Abuse Survivors Support Services
Abuse / Neglect, Indigenous Services, Legal, Mental Health - Adult, Mental Health - Child & Youth, Services for Youth, and Victim Services

- Community Based Victim Services: CBVS provides support and referrals to those affected by sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and child abuse. Services include but are not limited to: support with crime victim assistance applications, support with victim impact statements, court support, accompaniment to court and police, crisis response, risk assessment and safety planning, practical and emotional support to adult and child victims of family & sexual violence.
- Sexual Assault Counselling: Provides trauma therapy for adult, youth, and child survivors of sexual assault, abuse, and exploitation. Individual and group therapy options are available. Services are available for survivors of both recent and historical abuse, and are offered both in person and virtually.
- Indigenous Victim Services: Includes outreach services and access to an Indigenous Support Worker embedded in the DVU (Domestic Violence Unit). Indigenous Victim Services support workers provide trauma-informed practice in the context of emotional support, practical support, and more. They work closely with Indigenous Community Partner Organizations to provide appropriate referrals to those affected by intimate partner violence and sexual abuse/assault.
- COEFS Peer Support: This peer support group is a safe place to share stories, struggles and successes, and to listen to others as they share similar experiences. Attendees can get a sense of belonging, information about mental health challenges and resources, and most of all, the support of others who have “been there”.
